Betonite Clay for Blackheads
Have you ever heard of using betonite clay for blackheads? Interestingly enough, betonite is a sedimentary clay that originates from from volcanic ash. A good quality betonite clay will be a grey or cream color and have a fine or soft texture. It can be used effectively to clean your skin, used as a facial mask or in your bath.
Clay has been known to have many uses in promoting health in animals, humans and plants. Research indicates that the use of volcanic ash clay dates back to the Indians of the Andes in Central America.
Something unusual happens to betonite when you add water….the clay material swells open like a highly porous sponge. In the meantime, the molecular components of the clay quickly change and give off an “electrical charge”. This assists in attracting and soaking up toxins and impurities and draws them into the center of the clay. That is why this clay can be so helpful for your skin!
· Use Betonite Clay as a Mask— Mix one part clay to three parts water. Apply the mask to your skin and wait 10-15 minutes. Rinse with clean warm water and pat the skin dry.
To use in the bath — Add 2-3 tablespoons to the bath and mix thoroughly. |
